Organismo internacional fundado em 1944. O Grupo Banco Mundial é formado atualmente por cinco instituições:
Bird - Banco Internacional de Reconstrução e Desenvolvimento;
IDA - The International Development Association;
IFC - The International Finance Corporation;
Miga - The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency; e
ICSID - The International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes.
O Banco Mundial, propriamente dito, é composto por Bird e IDA, que concedem empréstimos para países em desenvolvimento.
